Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated HVAC Lead Installer to join our growing new construction team. This role is responsible for leading installation crews in the setup, installation, and startup of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in residential new builds. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with exceptional technical knowledge, strong communication skills, and proven experience delivering quality craftsmanship in fast-paced construction environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of installers while ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality HVAC system installations.
- Perform full installations of furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ventilation systems, ductwork, and related components according to design specifications and mechanical codes.
- Review blueprints, job scopes, and builder requirements to plan and execute daily work schedules.
- Conduct system startups, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain clear communication with builders, contractors, and internal project managers.
- Ensure proper documentation of job progress, materials used, and any deviations from plans.
- Uphold company standards for workmanship, customer service, and jobsite professionalism.
- Train new team members and support continuous improvement in installation practices.
- Monitor inventory/material needs and maintain equipment in good working condition.
- Adhere to all OSHA safety guidelines and company safety policies.
Qualifications:
- 3–5+ years of HVAC installation experience in new construction
- Proven leadership or crew lead experience
- Strong understanding of local mechanical codes, installation best practices, and residential system design
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams
- EPA Universal Certification (preferred)
- Mech 4 (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license (required)
- Ability to lift 75+ lbs. and work in attics, crawlspaces, and varying weather conditions
